War on human smuggling could leave refugee casualties in wake
Description: The arrival of the MV Sun Sea, carrying hundreds of Tamils from Sri Lanka, has caused the Harper government to speak out about the need to clamp down on human smuggling. “We certainly know that Canada has been a destination for smuggling and trafficking,” said Benjamin Perrin, an assistant professor at UBC’s Liu Institute for Global Issues.
