The Lobby Gallery at the Liu Institute for Global Issues would like to invite submissions for visual based exhibits starting in January 2011. Past shows have included photography, video and sculptural installations, and we are open to exhibitions featuring all forms of media.
We are especially looking for work that addresses one of the three research focuses of the Liu: Sustainability, Security and Social Justice.
Please submit a brief description of your exhibition (max 250 words), including why you would like to exhibit at the Lobby Gallery. Feel free to include website links or images. If you wish to time your exhibit with a specific event (conference, summit, panel, commemorative day...), please include that information as well.
The Lobby Gallery is a place of contemporary and political documentary work housed in the lobby of the Liu Institute at the University of British Columbia. The gallery’s mandate is to foster alternative and artistic forms of dissemination of research through critical artistic expression, enabling a space for creative dialogue about global issues. It also seeks to build communication among students, faculty, researchers and the Vancouver public through the exhibition of innovative, engaging and responsible art work.
