Sex slaves for sale on Craigslist
Description: Craigslist, the popular online advertising site, is being accused of knowingly helping violent B.C. criminals traffic in underage and foreign sex slaves. And while the private U.S. company has removed “erotic” and “adult” ads in the United States, it is refusing to do the same here. That’s the charge made by Benjamin Perrin, a UBC law professor and author of the new book Invisible Chains: Canada’s Underground World of Human Trafficking. “Craigslist is the most popular website in Canada for selling unwanted furniture and apartments,” he says, “and unfortunately it is also the No. 1 website in Canada for selling people.”
