Read the report, We Are All the Same: Experiences of children born into LRA captivity, published by the Justice and Reconciliation Project, and a blog post written by Liu Scholar Beth Stewart, based on her research with children born into the captivity of the Lord's Resistance Army in Uganda, funded in part by Liu Scholar funding. Beth Stewart is a PhD Candidate, Institute for Gender, Race, Sexuality and Social Justice.

The report documents the views, experiences and hopes of 29 children born into the captivity of the Lord's Resistance Army and now living in the urban centre of Gulu. As an often overlooked category of survivors, it offers nuanced findings as to the children's lived experiences and makes key recommendations to ensure their inclusion and redress in transitional justice.

The blog post reflects on the process of documentation and the questions raised by the children who participated.
