Sophie is a PhD student in Geography.  She investigates how and why the World Bank is increasingly interested in climate change projects, particularly climate change adaptation projects, using political economy perspectives. Sophie is interested in how finance, ideas, and technologies travel and are co-constituted within the growing climate change adaptation industry.

Sophie received a BA in Geography and French and a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics both from the University of Melbourne, and an MA in Geography from UBC. Sophie has also worked as a researcher and analyst in government, nongovernmental organizations and universities where she investigated the impacts of climate change and climate change policies in a variety of places, including numerous Pacific Islands, southern Australia, China and British Columbia.
