Since February 2013, the Liu Institute for Global Issues is hosting the Faculty of Arts International Relations (IR) Program and the International Relations Student Association Executive Offices.

International Relations is the study of the global interactions between states, non-state actors, and economic and social structures and processes. The IR Program is interdisciplinary, combining the insights and perspectives of many disciplines, such as Economics, History, Political Science, Geography, Anthropology, and Asian Studies. Honours programs are available through the departments of Political Science or History.
